Where the data comes from
Two official Maltese sources feed this portal today, and we are working to add more directorates and units.
Built for extraction
Four ways to get the numbers out, from a single table to the whole portal.
Per-table CSV
Preview any extracted table in the browser and download it on its own.
Open JSON API
Documented, key-free endpoints with a live query builder and CORS enabled.
Bulk long-format CSV
One tidy file per report, plus the full verified Health Interview Survey series.
API & bulk downloads
CSV, JSON and machine-readable endpoints for all public tables.

Health Interview Surveys trend dashboard
The flagship series: four waves, 107 hand-verified tables, charted by gender, age and education — with an explorer and embeddable charts.
Ask the data
Put a question in plain English and get an answer grounded in the survey tables, with the source table cited.
Source and attribution
Publications are the work of their authors: the Directorate for Health Information and Research (DHIR), Ministry for Health, Malta, and the Infectious Disease Prevention & Control Unit (IDCU), Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Directorate. This portal is an independent project by Dr Stefan Buttigieg that indexes and re-publishes their open reports as structured data; it is not an official DHIR or IDCU product. Tables outside the Health Interview Survey series are machine-extracted — always check a value against the linked source PDF before citing it.
